Intel’s 11th Gen processors are good enough for video editing, for just about any everyday productivity job we could mention. Instead, the Vero is grey, with a flecked yellow pattern that’s reminiscent of cardboard or concrete.
Unfortunately, the Acer Aspire Vero’s display just doesn’t deliver, and the results are disappointing across the board. With their Intel integrated graphics, all these laptops are strictly casual gamers or video streamers, not in the same zip code as true gaming rigs with discrete Nvidia or AMD GPUs.Other owners praised the Vero’s quiet operation, comfortable keyboard and the Core i5 model’s 16GB of memory, as many affordable notebooks only use 8GB. As before, the laptop's paint-free chassis is made of 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic—saving, Acer says, about 21% of the usual carbon dioxide emissions—while the keycaps are 50% PCR.
Integrated dual-band Wi-Fi 6 not only allows you to get online easily but helps to minimise dropouts and lag as well, while the 3 USB ports and HDMI port ensure you can connect a wide range of accessories and external displays without any hassle. To put the Aspire Vero to the test, we’ve run a variety of productivity, graphics, and display benchmark tests to see if you’re getting your money’s worth from this green machine. We begin our benchmarking with UL's PCMark 10, a suite that simulates a variety of Windows productivity programs to give an overall performance assessment for office workflows. Left side: 1 x USB SuperSpeed 10Gbps Type-C, 2 x USB SuperSpeed 5Gbps Type-A (one with power-off charging), HDMI 2. The “R” and “E” keys are backward and printed in yellow (to represent “review, rethink, recycle, and reduce”).
The speaker system, thankfully, was more impressive with ample volume, good definition and even a little bass. Using Datacolor's SpyderX Elite calibrator and its software tools, we measure display performance, screen-brightness output levels, and gamut settings for the three most relevant color spaces for laptop users: the sRGB, Adobe RGB, and DCI-P3 standards. The Acer Aspire Vero is a decent everyday machine, but the busy laptop market throws up plenty of good alternatives. Acer’s TNR (Temporal Noise Reduction) Solution produces high-quality imagery even in low-light conditions. Acer claims that the Vero is saving “around 21 percent” in C02 emissions compared to a “regular” plastic laptop chassis of the same size. The 14 and 15-inch FHD IPS displays look brilliant, with Acer suite of technologies designed to make your experience perfect at every turn.
