About this deal

All told, we love our Artie 3000 Drawing and Coding Robot, and I can see him getting lots of love over the Easter Holidays! Like many, when I hear the word ‘Coding’ I panic that I’m going to have to get to grips with some complicated software or difficult ‘robot’.

Using the same drag-and-drop commands as the Artie UI, Blockly lets you explore more advanced programming techniques Advanced Snap! There’s a setup guide included with Artie, which is great for someone who is confident with computers. x 11″ paper onto a solid flat surface and turned on the power and place Artie 3000 in the center of the paper. He said it was much more likely Artie 3000 would be used to plant the seed of curiosity for coding in future generations. The product’s unique bridging of technology and coding with art and design saw Artie noted as one of the most innovative products at this year’s London Toy Fair, scooping a prestigious London Toy Fair Hero Award at the event. Four modes of play: pre-programmed shapes, games, art for colouring and freeform coding, children will love coding Artie to “tell” the robot what to do! A clear plastic cap is included to safeguard the tip of the marker during short periods of time when it is not being used.

Artie is a cute little WiFi-enabled programmable robot to introduce the basics of coding (my girlfriend thinks that it looks like an owl, hence the name Artie after Artemis the wise owl, rather than his name coming from drawing art). Artie has been lovingly cared for and handled gently so it is a mystery why we have to keep recalibrating the robot - perhaps he is a little temperamental. You can also differentiate by teacher/parental input- stretching children to try more coding by themselves and supporting them through harder tasks. Children connect to Artie 3000’s Wi-Fi, then use a tablet or computer to programme Artie 3000 to draw their code creations. We don't think much could go wrong with Artie besides maybe getting permanent marker on your kitchen table. Please note Artie requires 4 AA batteries (not included) and a tablet or computer to connect Artie to.

Children will learn left brain skills such as basic computer programming, geometry and maths, while engaging the right side of their brains to create colourful designs! With four modes of play: pre-programmed shapes, games, art for colouring and freeform coding, children will love coding Artie to "tell" the robot what to do! On the back of Artie 3000 below the head, there is the battery compartment that is secured by a screw. The fact that they are washable is great just in case they accidentally mark Artie as you place the marker in the robot or if he strays from the paper so as not to permanently mark the table.Learn to code and get drawing with STEAM-style robotics to create visual masterpieces--if you can code it, Artie 3000 can draw it! SIMPLE SET UP: With Artie 3000’s built-in WiFi server, no internet connection is required; Kids plug their own tablet or computer (not included) in Artie 3000 and follow step-by-step instructions to start programming in minutes! With built-in local WiFi, a variety of coding apps, remote control, and even the ability to draw, Artie sounds pretty darn fun and it's got the STEM learning chops many parents are looking for.
