Consider Me (Playing For Keeps Book 1)
About this deal
Eliza: I agree that Canadian readers will likely have a different response to hockey romances than American readers because of the prevalence of hockey in the Canadian sports world. If that’s what it was, then that needs to be explained, because my brain cannot picture a way that “holding her down by the throat” isn’t the beginning of a horror snuff book. When we were kids, we thought we were invincible, inseparable, that nothing or no one could come between us.
With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. There’s just one rule he’s finding difficult to follow: stay away from his captain’s younger sister. Kaetrin: I grew up in England and Maltesers (along with Cadbury Flake bars) were fixtures of my childhood. Not even reaching 100 pages, and I was already loving the characters, the funny banter, and the overall vibe of the book which was lighthearted and fun.
Emmett and Cara’s change of heart about supporting the relationship came out of the blue for reasons which weren’t clear. He won’t tell me his last name, and maybe that should throw up a thousand red flags, but when I’m all alone in a new city and struggling to make ends meet, his texts are the lifeline I’ve been desperate for.
In terms of popularity though, I bet you those stats would be reversed if you conducted the survey in Canada. I tabbed 50 different quotes throughout and I wish I could share all of them, but I will say that there was a perfect combination of FILTHY quotes and HEARTWARMING quotes, with a ton of SARCASM in between, but since I don’t ruin the book for anyone, the quotes will be on my instagram. Rose: Regarding the Miranda Keneally books, I don’t think of YA novels as romances, even when the romance is what the plot centers on. Rose: I found this article in the New York Times with a graph of diversity stats for athletes in professional sports leagues in the US. Olivia Parker is no different, because I've never had to work so hard in my life to obtain anything, especially a woman.
With his college graduation gown expertly pitched into the trash, Justin Akron is ready for the road trip he planned with his best friend, Landry, and ready for one last summer of escape from his mother's controlling grip. Why was this woman such a horrible human being and fully obsessed with ruining their relationship when she already had a hockey bf but decided to ruin her own relationship too? I’m not a fan of OW problems but it wasn’t necessarily *his* OW, it was just “puck bunnies” in general, which was frustrating! It wasn't until the unexpected loss of her brother that Becka finally decided to put pen to paper and pursue her dream, because she knew life was too short to live it any other way.
