About this deal

So I would suggest you to use another earpads or the same you used on the EVO's to "almost" match the bass rumbling on the ANC's, I can now feel the bass on my top head, something funny that happens in the EVOs.

The Stay Aware mode doesn't present environmental noise quite as clearly as others we've tested, but you can adjust its level in the app and you shouldn't have any major issues hearing your surroundings. Orchestral tracks, like the opening scene from John Adams’ The Gospel According to the Other Mary, sound a little ridiculous. The result is that some high-pitched sounds reach your ears relatively well, while others sound surprisingly quiet. Our advanced ANC is adjustable, too — so you can set your own custom level using a slider in the Skull-iQ App.A practical possibility with the Crusher ANC is the ability to connect with Tile, a Bluetooth tracker.

I like this level of customization, especially because you can reset everything to the default layout with a single press. However, the cloth-covered foam padding on the band distributes the somewhat hefty 332g weight well — I didn’t notice it’s heavier than the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless, for instance. I’m looking at you, Bose and Sennheiser, because this Skullcandy update took a painless maximum of 5 minutes. The result of an extremely exaggerated bass is, of course, a more spongy frequency image that tends to swallow up any subtle nuances. The padding in the center of the headband is incredibly plush and does a great job of absorbing the weight, while the cushioning around the earcups does an equally impressive job of making them feel snug, without feeling like they’re crushing your ears. While you have all the basic controls at your fingertips, you can further tweak the functions they perform in the Skull iQ companion app. I expected her vocals to be drowned out by the bass beneath, but was pleasantly surprised to find they still shone through with clarity. I couldn’t hear every single thing he was doing or him talking to me, but I could hear rustles of packets, clinks of spoons and cupboard doors shutting. If you have a non-BNPL balance, you will still need to make at least your minimum payment as shown on your statement.

Mick Gordon’s SkullHacker, from the Doom (2016) soundtrack, is bursting at the seams with heavy bass at the best of times, but cranking the Crusher up to maximum power near enough scrambled my brain. The plastic looks sleek enough, but I noticed that it was particularly susceptible to fingerprints and scratches during testing. The cups can fold up into the headband, which is useful if you need to stick them in a coat pocket or bag. This certainly reflects my experience; after a brief hearing test in which I held down a button when I was able to make out different pitches amid a background of white noise, my personalised profile filled out the midsection of the presentation, bringing greater width to the soundstage and pulling subtler notes closer to the foreground. For due diligence, I tried the headphones at full volume and with the bass at its highest level—I wanted to throw them off my head immediately once I did. The Crusher ANC 2 handles office noise relatively well, with only a little bit of clatter coming through at a greatly reduced volume.

No, the ANC performance isn't class-leading, but it's not as though it doesn't block out any external sound at all. The headphones somewhat dial back low-frequency droning noises like from an airplane, but those sounds are still fairly audible. At 50% strength, I was better able to discern individual guitar and synth notes, whereas 100% saw them getting lost in the frenzy. Battery life is rated for up to 24 hours but we saw closer to 20 with Sensory Bass set to 25% and ANC on. On the left earcup, there’s the orange power button – the only splash of colour on the headphones – the USB-C and 3.

Onto the battery life, it's up to 50hrs which is plentifull and also comes with a rapid charge which is great if your in a hurry.
