Pour Homme by Dolce & Gabbana Eau de Toilette For Men 125ml
About this deal
Smells like a sunny Autumn day somewhere bright and cheerful, where it’s warm outside, but temperatures have started to cool. I've never had the original (1994) version so this is a review that isn't judging a perfume with the cursed word "reformulation" in mind. Far from being quintessential, and even a bit boring, tbh (The more I wear it, the more I think that).
This smells like a highly linear, more synthetic version of Febreeze, or a New Yankee Candle's "Fresh Linen" candle line. This fragrance has easily become one of my favorites, and I must say that this fragrance has to be one of the most underrated and overlooked colognes of all time. NB: I get very good longevity from this, but you aren’t going to leave a monstrous scent trail anywhere. Reviews sujjest this beauty belongs to summers but I am using this frag during the onset of winters here in Pakistan. There's some lavender in the background and some tonka sweetness in the background along with a hint of green. On my skin it becomes quickly a skin scent, that has totally disappeared after 4 hours max (unless I douse myself in it).
The fragrance is an intimate scent and doesn't protect amazingly on my skin but is a great inoffensive everyday scent. The oils serve as a carrier of the fragrance, whereas the alcohol forms a bridge between oil and skin. What this has going for it though is the floral element, which has this air of innocence and calm, unlike so many other fresh soapy frags, which tend to either be zesty or sporty.
To me it is an upscale union of zesty sweetness of CK be and spicy base of Versace blue jeans in a very pleasant fashion. Oranges, Bergamot, Lemons and Neroli remind me of the sun-drenched beaches of the Mediterranean coast. The heart is a combo of lavender and sage, and the base is a combo of musky cedar supported by a plastick-y tonka, that could become cloying at some point. It's a long lasting perfume but it's the eventually-oppressive-soapiness which dominates eventually.
