About this deal

However, the Farpoint Trek’s adjustment system is much more advanced, letting you adapt it to your torso height far more. This latest edition introduces some well-considered improvements that make it more comfortable for longer carry, though fortunately without adding to the pack’s overall weight. A PFC/PFA free water repellent coating adds additional travel protection from dirt and incidental showers but I would always recommend getting a rain cover if you are planning on trekking in bad weather.

But nothing broke, nothing ripped, there are no holes and the zippers are still in perfect condition. Plus, it meets most domestic carry-on requirements with the main pack overhead and daypack as your personal item for far-flung adventures. Overall, the front-loading Fairview 55 does a good job of creating separate spaces for belongings, but it could use another small pocket or two. The new colours also add to its appeal and the choice of three different sizes make the Fairview accessible to most travellers, offering a 40 litre size for shorter trips and carry-on only enthusiasts, and the 55 and 70 litre versions for longer backpacking adventures. The removable daypack allows users to leave the bulk of their belongings behind and head out on daylong expeditions without having to pack a separate bag or haul their luggage around. While the straps and hip belt are well-padded and comfortable, and the back panel is very breathable, the weight distribution of this pack is a bit wonky. Inside the Fairview 55 day bag there are 2 pockets – one perfect for storing a 15″ laptop and the second for a tablet or documents. The Osprey Fairview 55 is perfectly fine and comfortable when walking from the train station to the hostel, waiting for a cab, or performing any regular travel commuting that does not require you to walk with this bag for extended periods of time. The great feature of the Osprey Fairview and Farpoint is that you can zip the harness away during flight or when not in use.

Osprey Fairview 55 (also available in 40L and 70L) is made from 210D Nylon Mini Hex Diamond Ripstop, making it durable yet lightweight. The fact that you can separate the overall bag into two bags gives you tons of versatility in regards to what you can carry and how you can manage your gear once you arrive at your final destination. Like the Farpoint, this backpack has a solid construction while remaining lightweight and provides plenty of travel related features, as well as a comfortable and supportive female fit back system. We absolutely love mesh water bottle pockets because what is more important than hydration when you're traveling?Double mesh pockets on the front of the bag allow you to access your water bottle or earphones in the blink of an eye. Whether you go to work by bike or metro, or prefer a backpack for weekend getaways, you've found the model for you, ladies! The sustainability standard for the production of textiles guarantees the highest level of safety for the consumer, responsible use of resources and the lowest possible impact on people and the environment. Despite minimal weights, these women's specific, full-featured packs adopt serious backpacking features from our more technical packs—like fine-tunable torso adjustments, load-lifting LightWire frames and breathable harnesses/hipbelts—blended with practical travel functionality. The Fairview should be suitable for most women, but the Farpoint larger sizing if the Fairview isn’t quite right for you.

Osprey continues to impress with their popular backpacking range and with the 55L, they’ve hit the nail on the head. Whether you're a first-timer or a top athlete, since 2015 we've been sharing with you our love of good gear and our passion for the steep trails we love to run around on. It’s small enough that it does not look ridiculous when you hang it at the front, but it comfortably fits a 15-inch laptop, some electronics, a camera, a raincoat, and snacks.

What this does is make the main bag more ‘carry on’ size compatible which was always a complaint about its predecessors failure.

We absolutely adore the idea of the removable daypack, but Osprey's execution could use a little work. When product pictures of the new Farpoint got released, I saw many comments on forums comparing it to the Osprey Porter. The Farpoint 40 has a slightly less spacious main compartment, but it has everything else included, like a laptop sleeve and a quick access pocket on top.Due to its backpacking pack shape, plus the removable daypack, the Fairview has a tendency to be quite bulky no matter how you fill it.
