About this deal

So, we decided to test the Instant Pot Duo Crisp with Ultimate Lid, focusing on its air fryer functionality (as we already recommend the Instant Pot Duo’s pressure-cooking functions and don’t recommend using one as a slow-cooker or for sous vide). You can’t open the lid when it’s building pressure or at pressure and the message bar reads “Do not open. Performance was good, producing top-notch meals – although the steam function proved too fierce for broccoli. If you're low on kitchen space, you might be deciding if you should opt for one over the other, but the new Instant Pot Dup Crisp with Ultimate Air-Frying lid combines the best of both and could save you from having to decide. With rapid pre-heating, timed reminders, and 28 cooking programs, it’s a quick and intuitive way to prepare meals for up to 8 people.

Once the button is pushed, the cover will release and fall, so be sure to have your finger in the loop provided to prevent it from clattering against the cooking pot. Chicken soup: Using the slow cook setting, we prepared a chicken soup utilizing a whole chicken and chopped vegetables. And with 13 different cooking functions means you will never be stuck for something to cook – air frying for the perfect crisp, or pressure cooking for fast, healthy meals or slow cooking for deep flavour – the possibilities are endless with 100s of recipes to try. The button and switches are intuitive, the pressure cooking cover makes for easier clean-up, and the cover releases and inserts easily.Usability and Cleanup Tests: Throughout testing, we evaluated how easy the machine was to use, including how intuitive its controls were. It took 10 minutes to reach pressure, and together with the one-minute cook and another minute for the quick pressure release, that’s a total of 12 minutes. And, of course, the whole design just saves a lot of space, as you don’t need to find storage for two separate lids.

This is our main issue with the Ninja Foodi models, though their models range between 21 and 26 pounds.

A removable pressure cooking panel locks into place just in front of the heating element, and protects this during any form of “wet” cooking. Even for a multi-cooker, this is a chunky piece of kit, and we know it means business from the moment we remove it from the box. times less energy required than in the oven, saving energy and costs,* giving you even more reason to use it for every meal. Both models have the same removable lid insert that must be in position for certain cooking modes – thankfully, the display alerts you when to add or remove it.

We’re happy to report that on test not only did this Instant Pot produce excellent results, but it was a joy to use. I’m curious if it’s possible to do a controlled quick release where you release the pressure in spurts. The registration will enable us to keep you up to date with product developments, recipes and contact you in the unlikely event of a product safety notification. Among the long list of what you can create, you can add air-fried chips, air fryer salmon, and even air fryer doughnuts to the mix too. Since most Instant Pot recipes are developed for these more common, traditional models, in rare occasions the higher heat will trigger the Burn Notice. The pressure cooking cover has everything from a traditional pressure cooking lid, including the steam release valve, float valve, and silicone gasket. However, these pot dimensions make it impossible to use a 3-quart inner pot inside for pot-in-pot cooking, like you can with other Instant Pot models.
