Let's Talk blends Nihal's experiences as an acclaimed interviewer with expert opinion on the secrets and psychology behind successful communication. With insights from ‘professional conversationalists’ from various sectors, this is a thoughtful read with some practical takeaways on how to have better conversations.

And while effective dialogue is supposed to lead to greater fulfilment in our personal and professional lives, all the scientific evidence points towards us sharing fewer interactions than previous generations. I picked this up because I wanted to learn 'how to have better conversations' as the tag line of the book suggests I would. Have long thought Nihal was the best interviewer around, reeling me into listening to debates on subject areas I wouldn't normally think about with people I've not previously heard of, and this has just reaffirmed that belief. Nihal’s writing is engaging as his interviews, bringing us a book that covers a range of topics including The Evolution of Communication, The Mechanics of Communication. I found it really interesting in a number of ways, not least because it made me review my own conversations.

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. And while we know that effective communication can lead to greater fulfilment in our personal and professional lives, evidence suggests we are having fewer meaningful conversations than previous generations. Nothing new or groundbreaking but the repetition helps hone in on a really basic yet key point point we forget a lot of the time: having a better conversation is all about listening and being curious. Instead this is quite a self-centred and self-congratulatory tract based on conversations with other people. I read this at the same time as Malcolm Gladwell's Talking to Strangers and despite the books being on a similar topic/approach, this is hands down the better of the two.

Now Caine delves into the real stories behind the gangs we think we know so well, revealing the hidden realities behind the myths. P66[ Elizabeth Stokoe ]- ‘an effective conversation is one that generates the least misunderstanding, the least friction , the least need to do the thing again, And the least tension and friction and misunderstanding as you make progress together across the arc of interaction. Which means not only can we become more effective communicators if we choose but that we should not let those who do not employ them off the hook when there is a better alternative. Haven't got time to hang around and read great tips and advice on how to achieve your ideal work/life balance?

Now he wants to understand how he developed his skills, what it exactly means to have a 'great conversation' and, most importantly, how he can teach us to have better interactions in our everyday lives. The considered and respectful way he converses with all his guests made me 100% want to read this book. Imagine having three life-coaches who had been through the toughest mental and physical challenges; a crack team of problem-solvers who knew in their day job that one mistake could be the difference between life - and death. In Love Is Not Enough, Mark’s first Audible Original, you’ll follow five real people over the course of six months as they navigate f--ked up romantic situations, ranging from dating app addiction to marital affairs to absurd fantasies.

a very impassioned defence of conversation as an art and one of the things that can save and retain our humanity in a world of GIFs and emojis and fifteen second digital dopamine hits. To coin one of Nihal's own phrases, it's 'more light than noise' and as such, I found it truly inspirational.

This deeply personal and supportive series offers listeners an honest and relatable insight into how some the UK's best-known celebrities have coped with mental health difficulties, ranging from OCD to insomnia, addiction to grief, and depression to anxiety.
