About this deal

The first is Harvest Time, an unreleased two-hour film shot during the making of Harvest, with footage from Young’s ‘Harvest Barn’ sessions in Northern California, recording sessions in Nashville and London. I can't believe this fragile jacket that seems like it was printed on a Wheat Thin is still holding up after 51 years. It featured the London Symphony Orchestra on two tracks and vocals by noted guests David Crosby, Graham Nash, Linda Ronstadt, Stephen Stills, and James Taylor. Harvest Moon is in some ways a better album, without the orchestral bombast that stifled some of the songs on the first album and boasting a more diverse overall selection of songs.

the last two tracks, the deceptively gentle The Needle and the Damage Done and the hypnotic rocker Words (Between The Lines Of Age), predict Tonight’s The Night, Young’s haunted 1975 classic. The hard bound book that accompanies the box sets includes 40 photographs, many of which have never been published before, and liner notes by Joel Bernstein. It's a lovely late '60's folk album with a consistent feel throughout and a sound that set the blueprint for his sporadic 'sensible' albums over the years. Though I often consider vinyl to be a bit like wine - worn vinyl has probably been thoroughly enjoyed and played often - you could keep vinyl unplayed or wine unopened but in both cases you don’t enjoy it!As much classic rock radio abuse as it got, 'Needle And The Damage Done' is still a song about a heroin addict and the preamble to Tonight's The Night. Condition - This item is in Excellent condition or better (unless it says otherwise in the above description). My personal opinion of the most recent vinyl reissue of Harvest (Neil Young Archives) was that it was beautifully presented and also very nicely cut and pressed.

In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. Yet, while “A Man Needs a Maid” now sounds more impressive, “There’s a World” remains overdone and unsatisfying. Also included are three unreleased tracks from the original Harvest sessions: “Bad Fog of Loneliness,” “Journey Through The Past,” and “Dance Dance Dance. Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description. His usual dissonant touches, like the otherworldly guitar in Out On The Weekend, are less spooky in this new context. Also included in the package is a hardbound book which includes never-before-seen photos along with extensive liner notes by photographer Joel Bernstein and a fold-out poster. Time has been generous to Harvest, which features more lyrical depth than its outward romanticism may suggest. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. The former effort topped the Billboard album charts for two weeks in 1972 and yielded the hit singles “Old Man” and “Heart of Gold.

On this number one 1972 album, even the singer’s acquired-taste voice comes across smooth and beautiful – the smash Heart of Gold, with steel guitars and Linda Ronstadt’s backup vocals, is by far young’s most commercial-sounding song. Do yourself and your ears a favour, listen to this remaster on a well set up turntable through a decent sound system and I guarantee you'll have every bit of the best audio experiences to be had bar none. In addition to serving as the best and most musical version of Harvest, Reprise’s 2009 reissue features artwork and packaging better than that of the original. Anyway, I’ve been listening a lot to Radio Paradise while working from home and he features fairly regularly on there and that has sort of piqued my interest to explore his (large! The album features many of Neil’s most popular songs, including From Hank To Hendrix, Natural Beauty, Unknown Legend, One Of These Days, and the fan-favorite title track.

Harvest, Neil Young’s fourth album, proved even more popular than its predecessor, After the Gold Rush. The 50th Anniversary Edition will be released on triple-vinyl and triple-CD, both of which features the original album; a disc of three studio outtakes from the original ‘Harvest’ sessions (‘Bad Loneliness’, ‘Journey Through The Past’ and ‘Dance Dance Dance’); and an unreleased live BBC solo performance. It topped the Billboard 200 album chart for two weeks, and spawned two hit singles, "Old Man", which peaked at No.

Young’s fourth solo album remains one of the most beloved in his catalog and is dense with songs that have long-permeated radio waves. The quality of this record is the equivalent to a Tone Poet edition and is worth having in your collection. Other elements, such as reeds and percussion, benefit from more clarity and precise location in the soundstage. my copy has terrible split pretty much the entirety of the top and bottom of the jacket, but other than that, is absolutely perfect, let it be a little noise. His fourth solo album remains one of the most beloved in his catalogue and is full of with songs which have become all-time classics.
