My Happy Marriage, Vol. 1 (light novel) (My Happy Marriage (Novel))
About this deal
Elsewhere, Kiyoka visits the Saimoris and informs them they will receive none of the traditional benefits from Miyo marrying into a powerful family unless she receives a full apology. Because between dealing with a mother-in-law and a secret society, Miyo and Kiyoka have their hands full. I also love that Kiyoka, being that he’s not used to showing emotions like caring for others and whatnot, is making a huge effort for her.
That way you can both appreciate the difficulty of the load, and once you're finished carrying it, you can share in the joy of overcoming it together. Yoshirou explains that Miyo has the ability to intervene in a person's dreams and because of that, she will continue to have nightmares. but that unfortunately also didn't spend much time on anything else, and never allowed even the slightest potential conflicts or complications to brew for long. It’s a bit ironic since although the two have quickly realized how important they are to each other, they’re not nearly as quick on the uptake that their feelings are romantic. I wish the romance and tension between Kiyoka and Miyo had been extended, with a bit more of a slow burn.It covers Kyoka going and announcing to her family that he wants to formalise the betrothment, and telling her father and stepmother that he'll give them more betrothal money if they apologise directly to Miyo.
While I’ve felt Gifts were well explained in scope, the Grotesqueries were just some vague creations. There were moments were I felt like the side characters were over the top in their behaviour, but I gave it the benefit of a doubt as it read like a manga to me. We’re also introduced to several characters related to Miyo’s family, but they’re a bit too much of a spoiler to discuss in detail. Meanwhile, Miyo learns the Western etiquettes for the upcoming party with Hazuki but she begins to have nightmares and headaches that severely impact her daily life and her lessons. The next day, an informant, Iwashimizu, shows Kiyoka the details of the investigation into the Saimori family. Meanwhile, at the Tatsuishi residence, Kouji tries to reassure Kaya that they can rebuild the Saimori family but she shrugs him off. Relationship wise, Kiyoka and Miyo are still progressing rather slowly despite the other constantly being on their minds and wanting to be together. Meanwhile, when Hazuki asks Miyo about her ideal life, Miyo replies that she wanted to be with Kiyoka.
The abuse runs deep and I love the emphasis that a simple sorry and dowry would not be enough to heal those wounds. When Miyo finally comes of marriageable age, though, her hopes of being whisked away to a better life crumble after she discovers her fiancé’s identity: Kiyoka Kudou, a commander apparently so cold and cruel that his previous would-be brides all fled within three days of their engagements. Although it’s only from grandpa’s POV, it still feels good ‘cause at least we got a glimpse of what really happened instead of thinking that Sumi was just cruelly sold off to another bloodline just to prevent their own bloodline’s ruin. My Happy Marriage ( Japanese: わたしの幸せな結婚, Hepburn: Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) is a Japanese light novel series written by Akumi Agitogi [ ja] and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka. Still, will the allegedly cold and cruel house into which Miyo aims to marry prove much warmer than the family she left behind? If I'm remembering correctly, he only meets her once, during the incident when the house is burning down.
This also allows the novel to connect with characters introduced in volume 2 and sets up well for a longer arc. Miyo dreams of the day her father confirmed she lacked the Saimori Spirit-Sight and started neglecting her.Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).
